Pumpkin Protein Shake!

Getting Kevin to drink or have more Protein and not pop has been what you would say a little bit of a challenge. We have many different kinds of protein in the home however it is just not something he is liking at the moment. So to Pinterest I went to try to find how I could put protein in something that he would like. Most things I found called for bananas, one thing on his top five that he will not eat. He doesn't even like it when I eat them so it has been a little bit more of a challenge. I found a banana and pumpkin shake however I decided I was going to do it with out the banana and see how it turned out..... Well he loved it and it was a hit in the house! Point for Emily!!!

How to make the Pumpkin only Protein Shake:
- 1 1/2 Cups Silk Almond Milk - Vanilla
- 1/4 Cup Pumpkin - We used Libby's
- 1 scoop of Vanilla Protein
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 Teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice

Throw them all in the Blinder for about 2-3 and you have your self a Pumpkin Protein Shake to enjoy!!

Pumpkin Shake - before it was gone!
Kevin enjoyed his shake all right, down to the last drop!

Water Detox

I drink a lot of water. I mean a lot of water. I can usually drink three glass if we going out to dinner and I would say a while I am am working five or six normal water bottles during my shift. Also I would drink more water when I get home. So needless to say I carry around with me a lot of water weight. I found on line something to try and it helps reduced the water weight. I will say I do not like water with lemons and this calls for it so I tried it right after and it was not the best thing I have tasted however after I let it chill overnight in the refrigerator it tasted a lot better. You also need to drink this insteda of water for seven days to get the best results.

Ingrentends:
-60oz of Water.
-Roasted Dandelion Root
-100% Pure Cranberry Juice
-Lemon Juice
(I found the Dandelion Root and Pure Cranberry Juice in the Organic Section at Hy-Vee)

Let me know how it works for you!

I will let you know that after trying it for almost a week I actually gained some of the weight back that I had lost. EKK! After looking a little more into this and talking to a few people it is because what I think causing my body to be "dehydrated" even thought I was drinking water. I was just not drink enough that my body was used to so it was holding on to all it could because it didn't know if it would get more. I'm back to drinking lots of water and back to my weight loss. I will say I am going to give this a try to see if it works later in my weight loss challenge.

Two Weeks Down.

Kevin and I are now two weeks into our weight loss and change in life style. I can say that I have lost six pounds and Kevin has lost five. It is progress but we still have a long way to go to get where we need to go. We have started to go to a gym as of last night to start running and working out since we have not been able to go outside due to weather. I hope this will also give us some more progress. I found some information that I found very interesting that I wanted to share with you all about running.
The things that stand out most to me would be first off Mental Health. If you do not know me I am prone to get migraines often.  I am hope that with the start of running on a regular schedule it will help and I can come off my medication.  Also it helps with your over all immune system that is great. Who would not want that. I feel like if someone is sick in the office I will be the one that gets it no matter what. All of this is on top of burring the calories and getting fit.

Something else that is very important to weight loss is drinking water.  If you know me I do not have a problem with that. Some people in my family like to call me a fish. I have always picked water over pop or juice any day of the week however to get Kevin to switch has been a little bit of a struggle. I found this and it kind of put it into check for him about how much water he really need to be drinking a day.
Just keep that in mind if you are trying to drop a few pounds. Also I have started to drink something to reduce water weight. It takes seven days so I will let you know how it goes.
