Mt. Vernon

For the second adventure we went on today was Mt. Vernon.  The home of former President Washington. We walked all around his grounds, through the slave quarters, his mansion, garden, and barns. We also got to walk by his and Mrs. Washington’s tomb. In the back there are 25 family members buried with them. Also we got to go down by the Potomac River where Washington had a dock. I had never been down there before it was absolutely amazing. I can only imagine what it looked like a few years ago.

  1. Doesn't look like it has changed much since we lived out that way. I'm loving these posts, though- I really miss that area!!!
