Hilton Garden Inn!

So when we when on our vacation we stated in an amazing hotel! I am still very lucky that I am working part time at Hilton on Wednesday, may day off at Nationwide so I will get my great discount. We stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn, but this was no other HGI this was one that was was built in The Loyalty Building, an historical landmark in the city.  The inside was truly amazing and we had an amazing room.  It used to be an old bank and it has some of the features still in it. I took some photos to show you but it could not do it justice.

Miller Park.

Tonight we went to Miller Park! Play ball!!!!! We went to watch the cubs play the brewers. Todd and Emily came with us so it was great to see them again.  It was also great to see another ball park, they are all so different!

Boat Tour!

This afternoon we went on a boat tour around Wisconsin. I think it was great because we got to go up and down the river and even out to the lake. We also got to learn about the history of the city that we were spending time it. We also had a great day to be on the boat.

Water Street Brewery

We started off today by sleeping and then going to lunch. We went to Water Street Brewery.  Kevin was in heaven, again! They had great beer for him to try and he was able to get a sampler of what they had on tap so we was able to try EIGHT different kinds. This is not a fast food place so if you have a little bit of time and love beer stop in and see what they have.  They also have great artwork. 

AJ Bombers!

For dinner the first night we went to AJ Bombers. Todd and Emily came down to join us and they pick to go there. I don't think any of us knew what we were getting our self in to but it turned out great. As they say at AJ - Happiness with a side of Burgers. When you sit down they give you a laminated pice of paper with a white board marker. You select what you would like from the menu....so if it is wrong then then it is your fault! It was so good - need less to say we did not have much left over food. Lakefront Brewery

We then headed on over to the Lakefront Brewery.  To get to the Brewery was a challenge.  They were having a bike rase going on and every thing was closed, we had to call and ask how to get there. After we got there it was great, they are a smaller company but they were great to walk through. Our tour guide used to work their full time and now works their part time as retired.

They gave us each 4 chips for 6oz pours - needless to say we did not use them all.

Horny Goat Hideaway

For lunch we went to the Horny Goat. It really is a hideaway, I would recommend this to anyone going to Wisconsin. They had great food and they have lots of their own beer.  It is kind of off the beaten bath so I have attached their web page but I think you should go check it out!

Miller Tour

We started our first day in Wisconsin on the Miller Tour. It was a great place to start we walked all over the brewery and got to see so many great things.

LOOK AT ALL THAT BEER!!!! Crazy Fact - the Beer from here comes to every place in Iowa!!! So we were looking at Beer that could have ended up in Iowa that you could be drinking!

Power Steering

On our way to Wisconsin the Power Steering went out in the car.  However because my car is special it has no fluid it is a fuse. So we had to find someplace that had one that could fix it. We were by davenport where my grandparents live so there were great and able to help us out a lot but we got in a lot later than the thought we were going to.

I wanted to show you all what Kevin got me for my basket.  He did an awesome job, I was impressed. I love the book he got me it is something I really wanted and we are all set for our trip and we have lots of snacks! Great work Kevin!

Road Trip!

This week Kevin and I will be going to watch the Cubs play. We will be driving for 6 hours so we decided to do car baskets for each other! Something fun and random and nice to do for each other. So excite for the way his turned out!

Dad's Day!!!

I had to work on Father’s day so we celebrated on Saturday with dad! Erin was able to drive up and surprise dad and we were all able to spend the day together. Melissa came up with an awesome idea to go to The Social Canvas in Waukee.  This place is great, they have a teacher and you learn from her and you paint the photo from your eyes. We all had a great time spending it with dad!
