Cardinals vs. Cubs

After the tour we walked around the ball park, went to some of the shops that were selling cubs items and then had lunch before the game! Then it was game time! It had been a good series so far with going into extra inning that last two games so we were hoping no to be disappointed!  However the Cardinals ran away with it and the Cubs lost. We still had a great time and our seats were great – it was freezing cold however!
This is Kevin playing around in one of the stores that we went in to :D

Yep, I got some Hot Coco at the game I was that cold!

Wrigley Field Tour

So bright and early on Sunday morning Kevin and I went to Wrigley Field. We had a 9:30am tour of the ballpark before the game started. It was so much fun! We got to sit in almost every section of the ballpark – there is not really a bad place to sit I found out. We also got to go on the field as well. The only thing we did not get to do because it was game day was go into the clubhouse of the cubs and dugout, guess we will have to save that for another trip. Other than that it was great.

Windy City.

Today Kevin and I made our way to Chicago once again. We are in the wonderful city because for our anniversary I got Kevin Cardinals vs. Cubs tickets. I know it was early but it is something he has always wanted to see so I thought it would be the perfect time to give them to him! We will be enjoying the Sunday game, with a tour of the field tomorrow morning! We walked around the city today and then his brother and his girlfriend Emily came down from Wisconsin so we got to spend the night with them. It was a great night.

el Bait Shop.

So as you know for Kevin and I's first date we went to el Bait Shop. So on Thursday, Kevin and I went down to "our spot" to have two drinks. Just like one year ago. Let's just say the place was a lot busier and we talked about a lot of different things! It was so much fun! We just might have to make it a yearly adventure for Kevin and I.

Fall is in the air!

Today at work I found this recipe on Pinterest for a Pumpkin muffin mix that didn't inculde eggs, milk or anything! It was with cake mix and pumpkin! Since Kevin LOVES pumpkin food I decided to make it after work tonight!

Ingredients used!

Getting ready to go in the oven.

Just out of the oven.

Homemade Frosting.

All frosted and ready to enjoy!

Recipe:

1 - Box Betty Crocker - Spice Cake Mix
1 Can Pure Pumpkin
Optional - 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (to give it more of a pumpkin flavor)

Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl and place in muffin pan. Place in oven at 350 degrees F for 20min. Then Frost! Then Enjoy!!!!

Our Story...From Kevin's Eyes.

Our story as best as can be described by me, Kevin.  I will admit we did meet on Match.com.  Not sure who made first contact, but I definitely wanted to make contact right away.  As her story starts out it may seem that I was reluctant to go on a date with her that was not the case.  I did, I was just rather busy and it didn’t help that she was working two jobs which make her extremely busy.  Hard to find times to hang out when that time doesn’t exist.  So since I was definitely up for meeting her, the second time she asked to meet I was saying yes no matter what time, even if that did end up meaning 11:00pm.  With that in my it was my task to pick the location for the date, personally I don’t know a lot of places that are up near midnight on a Thursday.  So I figure a local bar would be the perfect fit, plus I love the seasonal beers which include Pumpkin Ale, and I figured they would have some and they did.  SO the date was set.

On the date, the first thing I noticed about her was her license plates.  EM FUNK, not a lot of people have personalized ones but this girl did.  As we walk in I notice that the crowd is a whole lot thinner than I imagined.  I think it was us and another couple.  So my “location” was probably not the greatest of choices.  The first thing we did or I should say I did was get drinks.  She was doing her “you choose because I want to make you happy” so I picked us both out beers.  I gave her an Anchor Steam beer, which she hated (she obviously won’t admit that).  She maybe drank a third of the bottle.  But this didn’t matter all that much as we did talk the night away.  We closed down the bar and even left the parking lot after the workers did.  We just kept talking.  Skip ahead to the end of the first date and she states that her nose was cold.  Yes it was, but it definitely was her way of telling me to lean in for our first kiss.

That pretty much some of my version of our story, the others dates were just continuous off of our initial great first date.

Our Story.

So about a year ago Kevin and I went on our first date. I thought this would be the perfect time to tell “Our Story.”
If you all didn’t know Kevin and I met on Match.com. We had been talking for a while but had never had a face to face meeting. So I asked if he wanted to meet on Wednesday, I had the night off from my part time job and didn’t have to work the next morning at Hilton. He was busy watching war movies with his guy friends so he declined. I tried once more, little does he know that if he declined again I would have given up. So again I tried on Thursday, after I got off work from Target – that would be 11:30pm and I would still need to change and everything. To my surprise he said yes. So we had a date all set, I was going to text him when I left Ankeny. It was his suggestion that we go to El Bait Shop. Little did I know at the time that he LOVES trying new beer, perfect for him. So he was a perfect gentleman and asked me what I wanted to drink. I said I didn’t care so he just picked one, it wasn’t the best but I drink most of it. We talked the night away, till the bar closed down at 2am. We then went out to the parking lot and talked some more, it was so cold that night and I didn’t dress correctly for the water – oops! However I had a blanket in my car so I was able to wrap up in it. However by the end of the night I was getting tired and I had to work at Hilton the following day so around 4:30am we finally said good-bye.  It wasn’t until we were leaving I told him my noise was cold – it was, if truth be told, cold. However he took the opportunity and ran with it, and thus a kiss was given! : ) I was a happy little girl when I left him. Over the next few days we texted each other and my mind was for some reason always thinking about him. We did not set up a time to meet again however.  It wasn’t until the next Wednesday I knew he was something special. I had to go and watch Addi and Canon and he was to go to “guys night” however after a really long day at work I was not in that great of mood. However he agreed to skip guy’s night to go to Gray's Lake with – one problem, I didn’t know what time. He just waited till I called to go with me, it was rather late but we still went. It was the best walk I have ever been on. We then went to his place and watched a movie – I bet you can’t guess what we watched. We watched Star Trek, yep really romantic – I also made him make popcorn. From that point on I knew I wanted him all to myself. So from there we tried to spend as much time together as possible, I would come over after work and we would watch movies and eat pizza. Also if I ever wanted a kiss all I would have to say is “my noise is cold.”
Exactly 20 days later we became “us.” I was after we went to On The Border with my Dad and Melissa. His first time meeting both of them. That day was interesting in and of its self. I was so nervous for him to meet them but he handled it like a pro. However while I was leaving work the skirt I was wearing split up the back and the only place that had one was in Indianola. So I had to run there quick so I could get it changed out. I did that, went and got him and the first worlds out of his mouth were, “you look great.”
The rest they say is history. I could not do some of the things I am doing with him next to me supporting me all the way. He is my rock; I know he thinks I am crazy sometimes, and I just might be but no one makes me laugh as much as him. I know that he will always be in my corner and me in his supporting each other all the way. I love you my Kevin, always and forever.

Wall Art.

So while I was busy working this weekend at Hilton, I got this crazy idea I wanted to have subway art at the house and change it out when the different times of year come around. What better idea to get some ideas than Pinterest! Well it turned out better than expected. I got a frame from Michaels - with a coupon it was only like 10.00, what a steal! Then I found a link on Pinterest that had them all ready done, it took some time  to find the ones I like but I found it, I downloaded the ones that I liked. Got some photo paper from Target and poof its DONE!

This is the Fall one! I am in love with it! I can't wait to get it up on the wall and change it out with the other ones that I have! :)

Thanks Pinterest!!!!

3-0

Last night Kevin and I went on a Date together! We have not been on a real go out of the house date in a long time. We went to the Iowa State Football game! It was so much fun! I had not been to one in such a long time, and if you know me you know how much I love football. We got our tickets off Craigslist, for a really good price so I was excited out that and we didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg for parking either. The best part about the game – other than spending time with Kevin of course. Iowa State won, not by a little but by a land slide 37-3. They had in the 3rd string Quarterback for the last 5 min of the game!  And we got to go for Pizza after the game with Heather after! Woo Hoo!! : )

Look who I found! It's Sam!
