Take me out the ballgame.

Last night Kevin and I went to an Iowa Cubs baseball game with a group of people. It was so nice out after the very hot weather we have been having it turned out to be a perfect night.  We went to Fong’s pizza before (yummy) and then went to the game! However it was sold out so seating was in high demand, they had over 12,000 people their! We still have a great time and after the game I got to see fireworks – now this might not be a big deal to you but to me it big. I always work the night of the 4th of July or have for the past five years so I have not got to see any so I was very excited that I got to see them. Then I got to swing by the Embassy and said hello to my dear friend Libby but that was harder than you think because of a TRAIN! You all should be careful if you are in downtown Des Moines around 11pm you might get stuck! Great night over all! :)

The ballpark.

We got "free" baseballs when we got into the ballpark!
There was also a FIGHT (you would think was Hockey not baseball) and all of both teams went onto the field - it got a little crazy.

Starbucks Junkie.

Melissa introduced me to this new drink the other night and now I am obsessed with it. It is so good. They come in three different kinds; I like the Raspberry Pomegranate and Strawberry Lemonade. They have a Mango one – Gross! You should go out and try one they sell them at Starbucks (duh!), gas stations, Walgreens, Target, supermarkets, just about any place!

Define Family.

Can someone define Family. Anyone. No, everyone has their own version of what a family is. Mine will be different than yours, heck even with in my own family we will have different definitions. You ask me what family is, they are the people that no matter what I know I will do anything for at any time of the day, that I would give up my life for, that mean the world to me, that you see on Christmas Day, that is who my family is. Just because we all don’t have the same name or the same blood doesn’t make us or doesn’t not make us family. As we get older we change and see who is really important in our lives and who really matters and nothing matters more than family. The best part about family is that you can’t change who they are you can never get rid of them. Families will fight – everyone does, you can’t lie about that – but your family you should work it out, otherwise everyone in your family will suffer. If not it will make Holidays, Birthdays and all other family events awkward because one of you will not be in attendance. Family you can’t say you will always get along, or that you always agree with the choices that everyone is making, but you love the person none the less because they are your family and they are the only ones you have. A wise man once told me “The only people that matter are the ones that will be crying at your funeral.” We all know that will be your family.

Saving a Life.

Today Kevin and I went down to the blood center of Iowa and we both gave blood! I try to give blood every 16 weeks, this was his first time. It is very hit or miss with me because your iron count has to be at 38% and mine is always low - well today I was at 39- Kevin was 48 (go figure) so I was able to donate. I was so happy. I think everyone should go and give blood it's a great cause and you help a lot of people.

Father's Day.

Today is Father's Day, so after I got off work I went and got Erin and after I showered we went down to his house to have dinner with him and Melissa. However Erin was a surprise he didn't know she had come home from school this weekend, so he was excited when he found out she was with me! We had a great night just all hanging out!

Bedroom.

Today while I was at work I gave Kevin the "task" of rearranging the bed room. The way it has been hasn't changed since I moved into the house in almost two years and I needed something different. Something more open, he did an amazing job and I love it! I might just need to give him more tasks while I'm at work! :)

Old way. Looking in from the door.

Love Fern.

So if you have seen the movie, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, you will know what I am talking about. When the girl - Kate Hudson gets a plant and disrupts guys nights at her new boyfriends place and tells them this is their "love fern" and if he lets it die then their relationships will die. So I decided Kevin and I would get a "love fern" we got two bamboo sticks from Ikea in Chicago so lets hope they don't die! :)

Navy Pier.

After getting our eat and shop on we went on over to Navy Pier, where we ate some more and got to shop some more. We had dinner at Harry Caray's Tavern, I had been their before however Kevin had not, with him loving the Cub's I thought it would be fitting to their for dinner. He LOVED it - little kid in a candy shop! After dinner we walked the pier and then head back to theWit for our last night and now we are watching the Cubs on TV. We had to call down to the front desk to ask what channel they were playing on becuse we couldn't find it - why you would make it difficult I don't know.
