Grandma's Birthday

Sunday, was my maternal grandmother’s birthday. I thought I would not be able to go to dinner with her since I was working till seven. However I got done with work early (yay!) and I called my mom and asked if her and Erin wanted to come up and have a grill out with us they asked if we could invite my grandma since it was her birthday (great idea!) so she came up as well. Kevin (grill master) made some great cheeseburgers and we had chips, fruit and of course what’s a birthday without some CAKE! It was so nice to spend it with her on her birthday!

Work Party.

This was a long time ago, back on the 20^th HGI (Hilton Garden Inn) had our “Holiday Party.”  We don’t have ours in December/January because well we are a hotel and other people have them then and we like to SELL, SELL, SELL, so we have it in May! It was in Lion’s Park and it was a great day! We had a grill out and got to just relax and talk to our work friends!

Heather's Graduation Party.

Saturday, Kevin and I went back to his mom’s house for his little sister’s graduation party.  She actually graduated on Thursday night and then her party was this past weekend with a bonfire after.  She is going to follow in her older sister and Kevin’s footsteps and become a Cyclone.  It will be nice to have her somewhat close so when I want some Great Planes Pizza she can join us if she wants! It was great to see all of Kevin’s family, we had a great time, it was to short – we had to drive back that night, I had to work the next morning. Congratulations Miss Heather, Kevin and I are so very proud of you.

Joe’s Crab Shack.

On Tuesday Night I got to go to Joe’s Crab Shack. It was amazing. I even got to sit outside (and it wasn’t even my birthday) that is usually the rule since no one in my family likes to sit outside. However Joe’s in West Des Moines has a very nice covered patio overlooking the pond.

Great Planes Sauce and Dough. Enough said, it is the best pizza ever. It is in Ames, Iowa and I was so lucky that last my lovely mom took Kevin, ME and my grandmother all up there for pizza last night. Then I also got to Iowa State University to get kissed under the Campanile by my sweetheart! Did you know that the bells initially rang in 1899. They have been ringing for 100+ years - that’s a long time!

Prince and Princess

Last Night Kevin and I went down to Dad and Melissa’s house to spend time with Addi and Canon because Addi’s birthday party is tomorrow and I will be working and unable to attend, but of course we still wanted to spend time with them! After looking at a car in Indianola (fail!) we headed on over to see the Princess and Prince! It was SO good to see them; it feels like forever since we last saw them! They are getting so big! We played trains with Canon, and I ended up reading Addi books. We had an amazing dinner that Melissa made, little Canon can put more away than you think! Then Kevin and I gave the kids a tubby! Love tubby time! After that we went down and started to watch a movie, Monsters Inc. with pop corn (with M&M in it.) Right before bed we gave Addi her gift! I still can’t believe that she is five years old! It was a great to see them and spend time with them!

New Kid on the Block.

Last night was my first night at Maurices. When I got done I had felt like I had just got done with a 10 mile run. I mean I used to be a waitress so I was used to walking, but man did I get my little buns kicked. I was up and down up and down that store like a million times it seemed like!  We were so busy with girls getting clothing for graduation parties, graduation, weddings you name it they were in their trying it on for it. However I LOVED it, the time went by super fast, I loved always being busy, I am not one to like to stand around. I didn’t really “do” much, I got all of my paper work filled out, did watch half of a video then was thrown out on the floor to flow. Like I said it was a great night and I can’t wait to go back, the only thing is I need to find some different shoes! Shopping trip!
