Morning In DC.

This morning we did a lot of stuff but not many that I can take photos at so I can't do their own blogs so they are all going on this one. We started out the day by going to the Hard Rock for breakfast. Then we progressed on to the National Archives. They have the most important documents in the United States. They have the original Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution. It was awesome to see the original documents form so long ago that our founding fathers signed and based our country on. Then we went on to the American Art Museum where we all kind of did our own thing and Kevin and I went and looked at The Art of Video Games.

White House.

Then we went on over to this large white house on Pennsylvania Ave. Yep you guessed it the Presidents Home and Office, the White House of the United States of America. We got to on a West Wing Tour, so you can’t really take any pictures again so I don’t have many to share with you but I do have a few. I got to see the Oval office where the President sits as well as many other exclusive parts of the White House. Again it was an amazing, once in a life time experience that I am again so thankful and lucky enough to get to go on.

Birthday Cruise.

Today is my birthday! To start off the day we went on a brunch cruise around the Potomac River. As we were eating and floating they were also telling us about the major sites around the city. It was an amazing once and a life time experience that I was so thankful and lucky enough to get to take.

We then headed to the ball park for the National’s game! So fun, loves me a baseball game! We did have to leave early however because it was pouring down rain.  We when left it was 9 (National's) 0 (Braves) however as I am doing this blog we are finding out that ATLANTA is now WINNING!!! WHAT THE HAY!!  We did see THREE home runs in the short time we were there.

Crime and Punishment.

Then we when to the Crime and Punishment Museum. It went through the history of the punishment in the United States. It was great. It was a diamond in the ruff. Go see it if you have time and in the DC area.  They also film America’s Most Wanted their in the basement.

Room Keys.

As you all know I work at a Front Desk at a Hotel. One of my favorite question is that I get asked would be, "Do we need to turn theis back in." People are talking about room keys. We go through so many and just to prove it to you take a look at this......

.... A CNN Camera Man collected all of room keys in this tub from 1996 - 2008 while on the Campaign Trail. They are from 1,208 room keys and hotel reward card in this tub.  Now we do reuse them so give them back - what do you do with them...... :)

Newseum.

To get the day started we went to the Newseum. It is a newer museum in the DC area and not your typical one. We first started out by learning about the Berlin Wall – they have part of the real wall in the museum. Then we moved on to Famous Terrorists Attacks on our great Nation, again they have some amazing things from them. After that we moved on up to the very top of the museum and they have an observation deck , that once you walk out on to it you get a great shot of the United States of American’s Capital.  Also on that same level they have each day every major newspaper from all 50 states send them their front page and print them off and put them on display here as well as outside – so you can walk by and see what’s going on back home! Then we went on to a 9/11 part of the museum. It was amazing and so moving. It really reminds you what you were doing on that day and everyone that is important in your life. They also have part of the museum where they have Presidential first photos where they have some of their personal photos on display. Also in the museum they have part of it where major newspapers have impacted our history, and they go as far back as 1800’s. It is an overall good museum and I would recommend going.
