Family Photos

When Erin and Nick were home we decided we were going to take some family photos! I was so lucky Jenna was again able to take them for us. We went to waterworks park and they turned out great. It will be hard to pick what ones will be going on the walls at home. Though I would share just a few with you all. If you are looking to get some taken I would highly recommend having Jenna do them she does amazing work! Rascal

Today is National Dog day! This is a very hard blog to post. Some of you may or may not know that about a month ago my sister became mom to a new pup. She had fallen in love with him while she was working with the The New Nodaway Humane Society in Maryville, MO. His name was Rascal and he was a 7 year old pitbull. I was very lucky to meet him and Kevin and I also fell in love with him very quickly. If my homeowners association would have let us, I think Kevin and I might have taken him in.

Well this past week he got very very sick and he had to grow some wings. Nick and Erin made the very brave and hard decision to end his suffering and put him to rest with God. He truly was amazing and we were very lucky to spend the time with him we had. We we all miss him so much.

Budapest...

When Erin was home last she had advised me that I would be getting something in the mail soon that she had ordered on line from over the pond for my birthday. She was sorry that it had not come in time but it should be here soon.  Well on Monday I got a slip of paper in my mail box and they said I needed to come to the post office to give my signature for something. Well Kevin went to pick it up yesterday and it was from BUDAPEST!!! Yes my gift came all the way from Hungary! Erin didn't notice it at the time but it made it here and all in one piece and it is amazing. I LOVE IT! I am going to get it framed. The individual that did this has amazing talent and I am lucky to have a sister that thinks of such great gifts.  I can not wait to get it framed.

Birthday!

This week was my dad's birthday. Melissa was out of town so Kevin and I took dad out to dinner to Old Chicago on Tuesday night, his pick. Then we went over to Fleet Farm and took a look around and head back to the house where I had made dad a birthday cake, German Chocolate Cake, his favorite! It was yummy!!! Of course I had to sing him happy birthday as well! We then were able to Facetime with Erin and the Puppies! Hope you had a great birthday dad!!! Love you!

Hard Time.....

As we know in this world we are all very much connected to our phones. It seems like every where we go we always have our phones with us and have them out using them.  I got this idea off Pinterest, we all know we love Pintrest! To have a phone jail! I got mine at Michaels. I got a larger one so when we have family over their phones will be placed in "jail" as well. So far tonight it seems as though Kevin and I have been spending more time communicating and working on things together then playing candy crush and worrying about our phones! So family be where if we are home our phones are in Jail and if you come over they are doing some hard time!

State Fair.

If you are from Iowa you are well aware that we have the best state fair around. Something you wait all summer for that always comes right before school starts and is the basically the end of summer. On Friday, Kevin and I headed out to the fair to see what good food we can find and go see what fun we could see. The people are always great to look at!

Tonight Darci and her man Ken invited us to join them at the zoo for a night out and drinks. We had SO much fun. It was filled with great memories and lots of laughs. I can't wait till we all hang out again!

Adventerland!!!

When Erin and I were younger we would go to this magical place called Adventerland every summer with out friends thanks to our parents and dad's work. Well this summer dad got me some tickets to Adventerland. Erin was coming home this weekend with Nick and Kevin and I has still not used them so we thought it would be fun all four of us to head out to the park for some fun.
