Coffee Basket!

So many of you don't know this but Kevin is bless with a very large family. When his mom's side of the family gets together for thanksgiving they also do Christmas! For the adults they also put in one gift and do a nice white elephant kind of thing. Well this year I was able to participate and I decided to make a coffee basket. (I couldn't post this till after we had it this weekend count give away my gift) It turned out great and we had a wonderful time!

Day 22 - Manners.

I am thankful for manners. This was again shown to me on Black Friday, because of people who do not know how to wait in line after people who have been waiting patiently for 30 min to just rush the door and then have the audacity to sass me! Ugh it is just NOT nice and you are to have HOLIDAY cheer! I would also like to thank everyone who had to work - I have been in your shoes and THANK YOU!

Day 21 - Foot Rubs!

I am thankful for Foot Rubs! I am thankful for Kevin and how amazing he is and that he is always "willing" to give me a Foot Rub. For some odd reason my feet always hurt, I thought it would get better now that I do not have to stand on them all the time like I did when I was working at HGI, and it has helped a little bit but they still hurt almost ever night. So yes, I do love it when Kevin gives me Foot Rubs!

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving!!!! I have some photos from Thanksgiving from Dad's and Melissa's. This weekend we are heading to Kevin's Mom's thanksgiving so I'm sure I will have some more to share with all of you! I hope that you all had a wonderful thanksgiving with your family!

Christmas Tree!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Kevin and I put up our tree LAST Sunday after work and I was SO excited, I LOVE Christmas! We do have two Trees so we only put up the main one so the photos of ALL the Christmas things will come later but it was SO much fun! The lights outside however are not up yet! The home is starting to feel more and more like the holidays! Love this time of year with seeing family and everything!

Kevin getting it all set up!

Beauty and the Beast

The other night my mom treated all of us (Erin, Grandma, Kevin and I) to Beauty and the Beast down at the Civic Center downtown! It was a great play. It has kind of become a tradition to go to a play with her before Thanksgiving. The only problem I has was that Belle's dress was not YELLOW - um hello that makes Belle!

My New Office!

Well the other day I got my new office at Nationwide! I am officially done with training and I am out in the “real world” all alone.  I work my normal shifts and everything! Kind of scary but I managed to survive my first day all alone! Next week will be my first full week of doing it so we will see how I do, if you do now see anything in Blog land you will know I did not survive – Wish me luck!

That is my desk!

My name plate above my desk!

My work peeps! We went through training class together and now we are ready for the real world! Or at least we hope!

Day 20 - Pinterest.

I am thankful for Pinterest! I mean come on what girl doesn’t like Pinterest? I love it! I love getting new food things to try – well kind of. I love getting things to do around the home. Just a lot of great ideas out their that I never would have thought of.  Kevin and I have found great food recipes off there that we really enjoy as well as things that we have done around the home to improve it. Who ever thought of Pinterest THANK YOU! As a co-worker says Pinterest is like women’s Crack…

Day 19 - Cooking.

I am thankful for Cooking. I love being able to cook. I know I am a pickier eater and I do not like to try a lot of new foods but what I do like and what I do like to make I LOVE to do it and people say I’m good at it and Kevin really likes my cooking.  However I will say that I do not do ALL of the cooking at night we kind of do every other that way someone does not always have to cook so it is kind of nice. It is also really nice when you find a new recipe on line that you like so that you can add it into your mix of things you can make!

Day 18 - Family Time!

I am thankful for Family Time. I am actually very grateful for it. With my sister being away at school we did not get to see her as much as we used to so when she is home it is always nice to have some Family Time. When I was working nights it was even harder to have family time but now that I have them free it had made it a lot easer to see here when she is home.  I think it is very important to have a strong relationships with your family so I love being able to get together with them when I can, I with swap shifts with people if I have to so that I can see them! Love family time!

Day 17 - Melissa.

I am thankful for Melissa.  She is a wonderful addition to our family.  She gives us great advice when we need it and she also kicks us in our bottoms as well when we need it and don’t really want to hear it. She has been a part of my life for seven years so I have a lot of respect for her, it was not easy at first and that was mostly my fault but she gave it time and I became more of an adult and now I could not image life without her in my family.  We have great times when we are together and I know she will always help me no matter what to find the best solution to my problem if I have one.  She also makes the BEST peanut butter balls around the holiday that I cannot wait to have… ; ) Love you Melissa, thank you for always being there for us!

Day 16 - Susie.

I am thankful for Susie.  For anyone who doesn’t know who Susie is, that is my car. : ) She was “born” in 2006 and has been with me ever since. We have had some great times together. She is always there when I need to get some place, I call her my little race car wanna be…. She was the first “big” purchase I made all on my own – looking back she was that big at all now that I have a home – but when I was 18 (I got her in June) I thought she was a lot of money and a 5 year lone was going to take me FOREVER to pay off.  Well that 5 years has come and gone and Susie is all MINE, I love my little race car, no one can take her from me now.  I have (and by I, I’m really meaning my warranty and my father) have put in a lot of money in Susie she kind of came out a little on the I would say the defective side BUT with my warranty she was good as new, just sitting at Saturn of Des Moines was not my idea of fun, and I think they got tired of seeing me so they knew they better get it right this time or I would be back.  I would have to say I am proud I have paid Susie off, I will keep her till she will go no longer, like I said I love my little race car!

Day 15 - Co-Workers.

I am thankful for my Co-Workers.  All of my Co-Workers I have ever worked with (except for a handful) have been nothing but amazing.   I don’t do the things I do for the money, I don’t do it for the hours I do it for the people I help and the people I work with I am truly blessed. When I left Hilton Garden Inn full time and went down to one day a week a lot of people asked me why – now I will tell you this getting a great price on a hotel room is not bad – but it is my co-workers I would miss them and the guests. I still e-mail them all on a regular basics and I on my days off if I am not scheduled I will have come have lunch with them – they are family they take care of me and I would take care of them.  They all really are amazing people and they have turned me into the wonderful women I am today. To my new co-workers down an Nationwide I am so blessed to get to work with you all and you have some big shoes to fill because HGI family rocks and I hope you can rock as much as they do.

Day 14 - Blog.

I am thankful for my Blog. I am thankful for the opportunity that I get to write and that people read it. I don’t know how many people read it but I know that there are people out there that do and that make me happy. It actually calms me down when I blog, it is a stress receiver, I can get it all out there, it is also is kind of like a virtual Dear Diary that the whole world can read. I can go back on a date in time and remember what happened because I had blogged about it so that is nice. I also can keep in touch with my family that is far away they can see what is going on with me and my life and they can see what is going on with my day to day activities. See how I live my life – and you never know when I me bloging about you. I just feel as if it’s my space and no one can take it from me it will forever be mine and I will always have the memories I put in my blog because they will never disappear.

Day 13 - Hot Water!

Today I am thankful for HOT WATER! My hot water got fixed today and I am SO thankful that I get to shower and sleep in my own home. I am also very blessed that I have a wonderful family that is able to take off work and help as well take me into their home so I can shower. You never know how much you take things for granted till they no longer work. So I will be able to shower before work in the morning and everything! WOO HOO!

Day 12 - Scentsy

I LOVE SCENTSY! It is kind of like an addiction. It makes any area smell so good where you place it and it always makes me in a great mood. It is basically a flame less candle that melts wax that are different scents.  They have lots of warmers, I have 5 of them in my home and LOT and LOT of scents! They are seriously THE BEST! If you want to order some Scentsy just let me know and I can help get you some!!!

Day 11 - Target!

I am thankful for Target. I would say it is not a good place to work but I am very thankful for everything they have in the Red Bullseye. I always LOVE going to Target, you go in for one thing and come out with a cart full.  Kevin jokes around that I can't go in by myself because I will get the whole place, there might be some truth to that BUT in my defense they have somethings I would not really need (like cat supplies) so I would not really get the whole place. The best part is their is a big holiday coming up so you can see all the new decorations they have!!! I love me some Target shopping!

Day 10 - God

God. I am thankful for him and looking over me. Friday morning I was awaken with a very rude surprise my home had no hot water in it at all. Went down to look to see if the pilot light was out (little did I know I had an electric water heater not gas) and nope didn’t see anything but this wire looked out of place. So I called my amazing dad and he said he would come up and take a look Saturday morning.

Fast forward. Dad came up this morning took the cover off took one look at it and said, turn the breaker off. (Duh, why didn’t I think of that) Somehow the wires within my water heater had gotten so hot they had melted and were no longer together and I had LIVE wires just hanging out in their. I could have burnt down my home!

One of the many things that I have realized in the past few months, since I have been hangout out with this great new group of people Kevin introduced me to, that God is always looking out for us no matter what and he is always their to lend an ear, good or bad and he will never let you down.

I really like the new church Kevin and I go to and I like all the ladies that I meet, I really feel like I have found some wonderful new friends that will not just use me and that are truly wonderful and not fake.

I can’t wait to see what the lord has for me, I know I am far from perfect but I am sure trying.

That is the Live Wires!

P.S. Yes, I am having to get a New Water Heater.
